What are the basic requirement to make a call with a proxy/register server with a cisco 1700 router.

How do I configure the dial peer?
What are the configuration commands to configure the cisco router to authenticate with the proxy server?

I have ip phone setup and connected and I could see it matching some voip dial peers but then I get a error "Remote Disconnect:404-SIP not found. Also my ISP says that my ua is registered with them. So the ua setup with password and username on the cisco router was correct. I followed the cisco website guide lines and created a dia peer like this

dial-peer voice 11 voip
description VoIP Test Interface
destination-pattern .T
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:222.222.222.222
session transport udp
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
codec g711ulaw
no vad

How can I test if the call is going through this dial peer?
What other configurations do I need to do on the router? Do I need to tag it to some sort of port like how you do with pots?

Basically I am not sure what I am doing. Any type of help would be appreciated.
