How do I locate the proper IP address to give to my customer to use to dial into my computer. I'm using Win XP-Pro, NetMeeting version 3.01. When I click on Help pull-down and go to "About Windows NetMeeting" that gives me an IP Address. However that didn't work. I'm thinking that IP address is for my local router (I have 5 PC's on a Linksys router).

Anyway, I gave my customer that IP address and they didn't connect. Is there an internet IP address to my computers that they need.

This is all new to me.

Thanks,

Kenn

Yes the IP address is the private IP address and will not be useful as a
calling address outside of your LAN.

The only way they could call you would be if your computer is the
designated dmz client of your router and they called the wan IP of the
router (usually determined by accessing the configuration pages of the
router). If you use the dmz feature you should use a software firewall on
the dmz machine( properly configured to allow incoming NetMeeting calls).
