It is not the OS -- others happily use XP and NetMeeting -- it must be
something more specific about your situation.

The video "break up" is normal in situations where bandwidth is limited.
NetMeeting attempts to preserve audio integrity at the expense of video.
Depending the bandwidth situation there might be things you can do or
nothing (short of changing isps) What sort of connection are you on(dial
up, cable, dsl), your partner?, what size video is being sent?(small,
medium, large), received - unless on a LAN to LAN call medium is the
largest size you should be using? What else is going on both connections --
something else using bandwidth? Has the QoS scheduler been disabled at both
ends? What is the NetMeeting bandwidth setting at both ends? ( I suggest
you use 28.8 regardless of the connection).

What "message board" are you referring to?

seconds........................ why ?

There is no absolute way to know without more detective work. What happens
if you pause your outgoing video? Does that help with "breaking up" of
incoming video? What happens if you mute audio ? Any difference?
What happens if you change the video quality slider?
Is your computer free of spyware, malware, adware? No viruses?
MSN Messenger 7.0 might be a better product for your needs -- assuming your
potential partners are on XP as well. |
