Need a NetMeeting user to test connection |
|
|
Haven't used NetMeeting for many months. Now I am trying to connect to
my daughter and she only gets audio.
Is there a site or person I could contact via NetMeeting to see if they
can receive me?
Thanks

http://www.intel.com/pccamera/portals/testcall.htm is a test site ( I
assume it still works -- haven't tried it for a while). It doesn't tell you
if they receive your video but when it works allows you to determine if you
receive incoming audio/video.
If she receives audio from you though whatever problem you are having is
unlikely to be connection related as audio and video are carried on the
same transport. Some things to check:
1) is video paused at the sending and/or receiving end? If video setup is
not set to automatically receive ( or automatically send) on connection
then video has to be unpaused manually ( at the receiving end right click
on the video window or use the Tools -> Video Menu -- at the sending end
right click on the outgoing video window ( My Video or Picture in Picture)
or use the Tools-> Video Menu
2) is her "view" set to have a video window (
http://www.meetingbywire.com/NetMeeting102.htm has info). If not reset it
to the correct view.

I tried that Intel site several times....I waited at least
five minutes each time, while it says "Wait a minute......".
If it's non-functional, you'd think they would be responsible
enough to take it down.
If anybody ever sees it working, please report it here....

Yes I'm also trying to test and see if my Netmeeting is working as
well. It's hard finding a server that's non x-rated.
I think you're like me and just want to be able to test and see if your
connections are working good.
