We recently purchased two, exactly the same, Dell Optiplex Computers with Xp
pro SP2 on.

I have setup one new machine with netmeeting running OK.

On the other, I ran "conf.exe" from Program Files, ran through all the setup
and closed it down. When I go to the Netmeeting Icon (bottom right taskbar)
right click and select "activate remote desktop sharing" nothing happens. I
right click again and "Activate Remote Desktop Sharing" is still there, not
greyed out like it should be.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Msnetmtg.inf and stopping
relevant services and starting again, but no joy.

Any Ideas Anyone

Thanks

Mark

If you disable RDS ( go to Tools->Options General tab), check then uncheck
"Run NetMeeting in the background..." does NetMeeting run in non RDS mode?

Has the procedure mentioned in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;878451 been
followed to allow RDS to function with the firewall enabled (on both
machines)?
