Route between endpoints on Frame Circuit |
|
|
I have a BLN (rel 14.0.3.0) at the core of my Frame network. I
recently added a new frame circuit which has two endpoints (ARN 14.00
and ASN 14.00). Traffic between the core and endpoints works fine.
Traffic between the endpoints does not work. I'm using RIP2 on all
three interfaces. Poisoned reverse is set to actual at the core.
Since all three interfaces are on the same network I'm guessing it may
be some layer-2 issue with the core. Any ideas on what I am missing?
Thanks. |

After a little more research this is to be expected. The endpoint
routers synchronus interfaces are blind to each other. From a PC on
the local network at each endpoint I was able to ping the ethernet
interface of the other endpoint. |

Have you tried Adjacent hosts on the end-points to 'reach' the other
endpoints via the same DLCI you reach the core ?
And maybe disable sending ICMP redirects in the core also, but this
should not be that critical from what I recall.
From what I remember, was the standard way to make this work.
Of course, if you use direct mode you don't need this specific
configuration, but you would need to redo the network addressing and etc.

Julio,
I think you hit the nail on the head. I set up adjacent hosts at the
head end and thats when it started working. I didn't think to try it
at the endpoints. I will try the adjacent hosts config as soon as a
window opens.
While the Bay documentation is detailed its like trying to build a
car. They have detailed information on how to build the parts and no
detail (that I could find) on how to put the parts together. Like
direct mode?
Thanks for your suggestion.
