passwords won't "save" on bps2000? |
|
|
I have a BPS2000 which reverts back to the factory default passwords
at every boot, although the rest of the config is preserved. It is
standalone (not part of a stack), sw: 3.1.0.78 fw: 2.5.0.1, using
local password auth. The switch accepts password changes correctly,
just loses them at boot. I have tried forcing a save (although the
docs says the change is committed immediately) by using a) using the
menu's "reset", b) using the command line "copy config nvram", and c)
enabling autosave. Anyone seen this or have a suggestion? My best
guess is that there is some sort of password recovery mode and its
stuck in that mode, but I have not found any documentation indicating
such a mode exists.
Thanks,

The passwords are not stored with the config, my guess is
that you have a defective flash component and need to
exchange the unit under your support contract or warranty.
