ils server not responding |
|
|
Hello everybody.
I have installed an ils server on a windows 2000 machine and everything
seems to be ok, but when I tried to connect to the directory server using
netmeeting I couldn't. I thougth that was something to do with the port that
I was trying to connect to so I typed the command "netstat -a -n" and
realized that nothing was listening on ports 1002 nor 389. In other words,
these ports are closed. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Need to do
something more?
Thanks in advance. |

Do you have to start the service in [Control Panel->Admin
Tools->Services] ? If it's "Status" column is blank, then it's not
started. In addition it might need to be set to "Automatic".
Afaik doesn't ILS depend on IIS, the web server ?
Cheers - Neil

How did you determine that everything seemed OK?
Did you reboot the server ? ILS is a subservice to IIS. I presume IIS is
running?

On Win2000 the ILS server listens on tcp 1002 by default.
If there is nothing listening on tcp 1002 your ILS server is not running.
