Instant Internet (Contivity) 100 Port Forwarding |
|
|
Hello guys,
I've been looking all over the internet to find a way to configure this
router. I'm running a DVR system behind the router. I need to do some
port forwarding so I can view the DVR from a remote location. I have a
DSL connection with a dynamic IP. I can telnet into the router, but I
don't know the command lines to setup the ports. Please help me. Thank
you |

Not familiar with the 100, but other contivity boxes are configured by
web browser rather than command line. Give that a go to the internal IP
address, and see if you get any further with it.
As you have dynamic IP, you will have to find some way of registering
the changes that may happen, or you will find you will no longer be able
to connect to it from outside. Not sure if the contivity supports
things like the dyndns.org service, where you can get it to register
it's current ip with their servers, and you then telnet to
whatver.domain.org you then map to it on dyndns's setup.
Or, just live with not being able to talk to it occasionally till you
get back home and can find out what it's changed to. Or write a script
to detect it and push that out to a web page on a website that you could
access. Or something.

The II-100's can be set up using a web-based interface or
using the included II-100 setup GUI. There's also a command
line, which is quite easy to use. The command you're looking
for is "nat add eth2:80 192.168.1.2:80 tcp" to forward from
whatever IP you have on Eth2 to internal address 192.168.1.2
on port 80 TCP. Adjust to suit your needs.
To enable the web-based configuration tool, the command
is "webserver port xx" to change from the default of 80, and
"webserver start" to enable the tool.
In the CLI, use a question mark alone to see all commands
or <command> ? to see all options for that command.
