Modem on hold problem |
|
|
Dear Mr. Mort,
I am fighting with exactly the same problem when trying to use my
E-mail-account at Dresden university via modem/phone line and Windows
Outlook Express while being at home. So, did you get any satisfying
help from anyone? Thanks for any hints, and greetings from
Cologne/Germany,
Rainer Behring

connected to the internet using the internal modem (tested with tiscali
and
freeserve), every two minutes or so I get a dialog titled "Receiving
phone
call" which mentions theres a call coming in. It also mentions "Your
isp
does not support modem on hold" and offers Answer and Ignore buttons.
It
then brings up a resuming your internet connection dialog if you
ignore.
This whole process disrupts the internet connection. Firstly, why is
this
alway happening every couple of minutes (there are no phone calls
coming in)
Secondly, why does the dialog appear at all, it knows my isp does not
support modem on hold, so why ask me if I want to accept the call
anyway?
Thanks for any help
