Bell 103 Compatible modem |

Where can I buy a BELL 103 compatible modem ?
Since our answering appliance has this protocol already bult into it
we are not able to use modern modems to talk to our device. Can someone
give me pointers or suggestions on how to solve this problem ?
Any help is much appreciated.

Many modern modems still support Bell 103 modulation standard. A query
on Google with Bell 103 compatible modem keywords returns several
results, and some of them allow you to buy online.

I have noticed a trend among newer modem chipset makers that any protocol
that goes below 14.4Kbps is being dropped. Esp. for softmodems. No Bell
103, Bell 202, Bell 212, V.22, V.22bis...
That means no more calling up paging services and, in some cases, TDD's.
However, all is not lost. Yet.
Multitech modems with the Lucent Venus chipset handle Bell 103.
You could try an older modem if current ones do not work.
Try ebay, weirdstuff.com, halted.com, and the like for used modems.
Perhaps you might care to invest in a used USR Courier V.Everything?
They're at Weirdstuff.
