Looking at the ZyXel Zywall 10 and curious what people think and if you
can connect to it via the http web browser so you can set it up and
configure it.

I just bought a ZyWall 2 and am happy with it so far. When I was doing my
research, it looked like all the ZyXel firewalls share the same configuration
interfaces. I configured my ZyWall 2 completely from IE 6. Looking at the user
manual for the ZyWall 10, the browser interface screens look virtually identical
to my ZyWall 2 except where the functionalities differ.

Before you buy, I suggest you download the user manual and quick start guide for
the ZyWall 10 and got through them to see what it will do and what you'll need
to do to configure it.

Good luck.

Yeah, I had conflicting info about the 10. Well, I used to have the
zywall 2x and the 2, it is the same, just without the x, no idea why
they did it. Anyway it had the features i like except for no keyword
filtering. the 10 does have that. everything else i think is the same.
the 2 has nice bandwidth information logging and reporting. i love how
it shows you what local ip did what and how much they downloaded per
port/protocol and so on. it just didn't have keyword filtering. so i saw
a review on the zywall 10 and that review said it did not have a reset
switch. i was glad because for security i don't want someone to be able
to hit the button to delete the password in the router. so i went to
zywall web site and saw for the 10 a pdf file that said there is a reset
button however in the phot in the pdf file for the 10 it had no reset
switch at all. then i called them and a guy named Tan said it has a
reset switch and that he was looking at it right then. so i was very
confused and then finally from another tech found out the orriginal 10
did not have a reset switch, but the 10w does have it and i think the 10
II might not have it cus the toms hardware review was using the 10 II.
Well, the 10w is the only one not discontinued so i did not want to buy
a product that is end of life. so i bought the 10w.
