Speedtouch |

Hi.
I've a problem with my Alcatel Speedtouch Pro. I use it in PPTP-to-PPPoA
relay mode, and it works well.
But after few hours (or a day, max two), an LCP packet of "Close
connection" arrives, and it disconnects. All good for now, but
I can't re-estabilish connection cause I can't see anymore ethernet
interface of sth, is no more pingable and reachable, so I can't
re-estabilish tunnel.
The only way to restore all is to force a reboot of my sth, so its eth
become alive.
This is a part of log when all that happen:

Jan 10 20:30:35 antares pppd[3153]: Modem hangup
After that, sth stays on, but it's died.
How can I solve this problem????
My firmware version is GV8BAA3.290 (even 281 has the same behaviour).
My system is Linux Slackware 10.0, with pppd 2.4.3 and pptpclient 1.5.0.
Thank you very much for your support and help. |

Hi Tony,
I have a speedTouch Home using pppd 2.4.2 and pptp client of 1.5.0 and don't
seem to suffer from any such problems. I am using GV8BAA3.281 firmware on my
STH. this is what my logs typically look like and I can maintaing a
connection for quite a few days.
Try turning on the debug option on pptp "on" and see what other info you
get. Might provide a hint as to what is going on.
I believe from memory you turn on the debug in the /etc/pppd/option.pptp
file, kill pptp and restart that.
BTW, where did you obtain the GV8BAA3.290 firmware from. I wouldn't mind
experimenting with it.
