I Installed it using the latest XP driver, and configured the modem
under
both pnp and non-pnp. Guess what? It was the innocuous D-Link ethernet
card installed in my computer that was preventing the 56k modem from
hanging up the line. Even though the ethernet connection was disabled
in XP. Who would 'a figured?!
