My grandma has a wireless signal via a coaxial cable coming directly into her computer, set up by the ISP for her, installed by them at a HIGH fee. Anyway, when she started pursuing how to wi-fi her house so when we come home we can use our laptops, she was told that she had to pay them 300 dollars for equipment, a 50 dollar "set up" fee and also 10 dollars a month for the "stronger" signal. Is there any way around this? We are trying to help her accomplish this without paying all those fees. Is there a way to pull the coaxial cable from the card in the computer and then route it through a router that would broadcast it wifi without going through the ISP?
