I've got a brand new, out of the box machine running XP Personal. When I
attempt to config netmeeting, all goes well until it gets past setting the
name and email address. The machine then reboots.

I've tried it several times and the result is the same.

I've checked the device manager for any problems (such as the audio card)
and dont see any.

Any ideas?

It most likely is an sound card driver problem -- do you have the latest
drivers for your device (the fact that it is brand new -- out of the box
does not preclude having very old/faulty drivers)?

I would visit the manufacturer's site and look for newer drivers.
