I recently upgraded the firmware on our Netopia routers (R5300,
R6100, 4541, and R9100,) to the current level -- which supports
them as DHCP Relay agents. However, now that they are no
longer DHCP servers, they fail to dole out IP addresses and
other DHCP configured info for VPN connections. I will get
"error: 738 the server did not assign an address" when
attempting to connect a VPN using my Windows XP laptop.

Is this an inherent limitation of the Netopias' firmware? Is
there a setting to allowDHCP relay for VPN clients? Or do
I have to set the information up in
1. the Netopia routers' WAN Configuration => IP Profile Parameters?
If so, where?
2. the workstation's Network copnnection propterties for TCP/IP?

Thanks,
