Hi,

I have a simple question: who initialise link at startup, subscriber's
modem or provider's modem?

Thanks

I believe subscriber modem sends out the tones to see if the provider will
respond so it can determine the type of training sequence to initiate. I
could be wrong.

Thanks "rocker". Your answer helps a bit. I have device which sometimes have
problems with linking. After few attempts (led is blinking) it stop to
initialise connection and seem to be dead. Acording your answer - perhaps
problem is in this device (subscriber side).
