AS5300, Quad E1/PRI and unframed E1 ? |
|
|
Hello all,
I've an AS5300 with 8 Channelized E1/PRI ports (Quad Cards With 4
Serial Interfaces) using the following firmwares :
- c5300-is-mz.122-2.XA.bin
- mica-modem-pw.2.9.4.0.bin
I wonder if I can configure the E1 controller as unframed E1
"channel-group 0 unframed " because I tried to do it and It says: "%
Invalid input detected at '^' marker."
Does the firmware and the E1/PRI Card support that ? if the problem is
any or both firmware version, which one should be used. if it's the
E1/PRI card doesn't support it which card is the adequate solution
Thanks a Lot

Nope, the channelized E1s on the AS5xxx platforms do not support
unframed operation. Only up to a 30*64=1920kbps channel-group.

Thanks Aron for your answer,
Could you please tell me which E1 Card should I use with the AS5300 to
can apply unframed E1, because I read on some cisco web pages some
configurations where the AS 5300 is used with E1 unframed.
Which is the reference of the adequate Card , it's importante to me
because the company has only the AS5300 and are connected to the
backbone using 2048 Kb.
Thanks a lot |

In order to run unframed 2048Kbps E1 into an AS5300, you would have to use
one of the following cards:
AS53-4CE1+
AS53-8CE1+
The "+" indicates that, in addition to the 4 or 8 channelized E1 ports,
the card also has 4 high speed (up to 8Mbps) serial ports.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/univgate/ps501/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008007de67.html
Then you would need to connect an external CSU/DSU that supports 2048Kbps
unframed E1 to one of these serial ports.
Cheers,
Aaron |
