Access point with built-in splash page?

Postby Guest » Wed Nov 23, 2005 12:20 am

I'm trying to set-up a one-off DSL WiFi access point for a cafe, and
I'm trying to identify an integrated AP that provides a very simple
splash page (authentication not even required) to display on the users
web browser before they continue on to the web.

I'm familiar with netopia's managed hot spot service, but that's more
product than I need - it's a free service, and we just want a
merchandising/advertising splash page for the cafe to come up before
moving forward.

Can someone suggest such a device? For SBC territory...

thx.

Integrated may be difficult to find, and not cheap if you do find one
AFAIK.

The Linksys WRT54G is based on Linux and has some flash memory in it or
something. This will allow you to use different firmware with the
router. Some of this firmware has capability that you desire. One such
solution NoCatAuth (is that the correct name?)
