Hi im new to the whole networking thing and i would like to find out some answers.... any assitance is greatly appriciated.
I have a VPN connection to my office computer, and it acts as a file server but does not have server software on it. I currently have roadrunner standerd service with dynamic addressing at both locations and i am runnign Windows XP Professional. There is no server at eaither location.
1.How can i access folders on the file server in my office from offsite without converting to a static IP addressing service. DO i need to buy any software?
2.How can i access folders on the file server from offsite, without converting to a static addressing service. (again would i need softwar/whatkind) and how do i set up that software
3. How do i manage the file server?
4. What are the best ways to set up the network security for the dynamic address and the static?
