SBC dsl ? #2

Postby Kmee » Wed Nov 16, 2005 4:20 am

I have the new 2Wire Router up and running however I am having a
problem with the computer at the other end of the house. It is being
connected to the router via a 2Wire USB adapter.

The message is "limited access -- network did not assign a network
address to the computer". What does this mean and how do I go about
assigning an address to this computer.

Thanks

1. What version of Windows?

2. Does the connection work when you are closer to the router? If so, it
is a simple radio wave propagation problem. Remove all the walls! (g). (or
change the router to a different frequency or try 802.11b instead of
802.11g). Or, as http://help.sbcglobal.net/article.php?item=2573 puts it:

"Wireless (802.11b) requires that the wireless signal reach the location
where the additional computer is located."

Windows XP home. It would be a bit difficult to carry the desktop &
monitor closer but I could try.

Thanks for your help.
