Cannot get NetMeeting to work on Win2K Professional:

Postby Guest » Thu Nov 03, 2005 2:07 am

I have tried the uninstall/install of netmeeting per the microsoft
page, and it even goes back through the installation wizard, as if it
is trying to re-install. However, once that is done, and I click on
the NetMeeting icon it just blips on for a quick second (I see the
Netmeeting logo) and then goes away. I look in task manager and see
nothing running for Netmeeting. Any ideas, because I have a new job
that uses Netmeeting all the time?

This is what you are doing?:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... US;Q267958

Maybe there is something in the event log?

You have full administrative access to the machine?

Yes...that is the site you have there where I went and tried
re-installing NetMeeting. Since this is a work laptop, I dont believe
I have full administrative rights to the machine.

Can you elaborate on the event log...? I am not familiar with it.

It may be that the only way to get it straightened out is to have your
employer's IT people deal with it.

Under Start -> Administrative tools (at least in 2000 server) there is an
"Event Viewer" -- it is possible you don't have access to it though.

(on XP Pro it is available via the control panel)
