Netmeeting via VPN drops connection |
|
|
We are connection our Seattle Office with our Home Office
in San Diego via VPN.
Both offices have a T1 internet Connection.
We can connect without problem.
Once connected, Sooner or later the netmeeting connection
freezes on one of the connected computers.
What could be the cause of this?
We have tried connecting on each of the bandwidth speeds
that netmeeting has to pick from.
Does anyone know of other options besides NetMeeting?
Thanks |

It could an issue with the VPN but it is hard to know for sure. Sound card
drivers or camera/capture card drivers could be suspects as well. What
operating systems are involved? Any messages? Event log info?

The bandwidth selection only just limits the audio codec chosen during
connection and shouldn't be an issue here. Generally though I have mine set
to 28.8 though as it provides (for me anyway) the best overall compromise,

What is it you want to do? An audio/video call? Data sharing/functions?
Both?

Both computers are running XP Professional.
We wish to share desktops, via netmeeting.
We are not sharing audio, and we are not using webcams.
only sharing desktops.. and control of desktops.
It seeems to drop more often when lots of pull-down menus
or pop-up windows are active.
