When I look at myself with this camera it seems as though I am moving in
slow motion under Netmeeting (this without going through the internet)? I
have tried viewing myself with the same camera via MS Messenger and the
response is quicker but not exact (there is a slight lag in movements)?

I have the Quickcam Traveler w/ Built-in Mic
My PC is an IBM 300PL Tower 450Mhz, PII
512K ram, 32Mg Video card, 40Gg HDD

Can anyone explain why the slow video response and what can I do to make
this better?

I have also noticed I cannot check the audio in Netmeeting with this camera
(Built-in Mic.)?
However, it does work with MS Messenger?

Can anyone explain why?

In reading previous post in this group it seems the Logitech pro 4000 cam
(with built in mike) does not have this problem when used with W98Se and
NetMeeting?

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

I can't tell you the specific reason but it may be because NetMeeting uses
(old style) VFW capture APIs where most other modern programs use newer WDM
API's.

Perhaps the default capture size is bigger than you need for VFW so larger
than required captures are being done and sized down. I would look for a
control that changed the default capture size and try to make it smaller.

This is common with Logitech cameras and built in mics. NetMeeting needs
full sound card interfaces and tests for those in the audio tuning wizard.
Sometimes even though the test apppears to fail the mic will still work in
operation.

I believe it suffers from the same problem.

Aside from MS Messenger what other programs are out there?

I am new to this online viewing stuff.

Can you point me in the right direction to locate this control?

Yahoo Messenger is another Messenger type program with video.

I am not much help -- this would be dependent on the device ( and I don't
have the camera nor do I know much about it).
