When I setup Netmeeting on an XP machine I can start up and enable share.
However, when it running and the icon is the tray on the bottom right corner
of the screen, it will show "Activate Remote Desktop Sharing". If I click on
it to activiate, nothing happens. It never really activates. Has anyone else
seen this problem. It works fine on systems with Windows 2000. I'm having
this problem only on XP machines.

I've checked the firewall, and it's off.
I've had the network technicians look at the network and they find nothing
wrong or different from the ones conneced with windows 2000.
I've checkec the services on the adminstirative tools and it's setup
correctly.
I've run Hijack this to make sure any spyware is not present.

Me and others have looked at these machines and we can't figure out why this
is happening.

Anyoine have any ideas.

Thanks,

Robbie

I haven't seen any problem like this.

Are you attempting to activate from an administrator account? All I can
think is you are facing some sort of permissions issue.

The only other thing is XP firewall related (but if it is turned afaik this
shouldn't matter):

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;878451 might be
useful to configure the XP firewall.

I tried what you suggest from Microsoft knowledge base earlier also. I tried
it with the firewall turned on and it turned off. That didn't help either. I
also tried it as an adminitrator and still no success. A few of other
technicians have also been looking at it and we're all baffled. We think,
but not sure yet, that it could be a patch that was downloaded and
installed.

I can't think what might be the problem. You suspect a Microsoft supplied
patch?

My system is patched to the most recent level -- without any problem.

If you find a resolution be sure to post back.
