Can't Share Desktop in Netmeeting

For some reason my computer seems to have a one-way valve when it comes
to using netmeeting.

If someone else is hosting I can see whatever programs they share.

If I host a meeting, I can select my desktop (or any other programs)
and click on the share button but anyone else trying to view my shared
programs just gets a screen pop-up titled my desktop but is just grey,
blank.

I experimented with whiteboard. If I am hosting and start whiteboard
and scribble on the screen, the other user can not see what I have
done. When they scribble on their whiteboard, I can see my original
scribble plus what the other user has added.

Help, I'm running out of ideas. I am not running any firewalls to my
knowledge.

Are you sharing the desktop or an individual program? Make sure nothing is
obstructing the program you want to share.

Not a symptom I have heard of before. Do you have the latest graphics
drivers for your hardware?

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't matter if I share an individual program or the desktop, the
result is the same. I have also tried this with only one other program
running (other than Netmeeting) to make sure nothing is blocking.

The graphics drivers are not something I have considered as this is a
work machine and they are all set up the same initially. I have set up
other users on the LAN so they could use netmeeting with no problems. I
also hook up to digital projects fairly often with no problems so I
never really suspected the drivers.

I was hoping that someone had seen the symptoms I have as they are
rather specific and was hoping it was a setting somewhere on my PC.
I'll keep looking for the 'needle'.

I have this issue also, it only occurs when I have people call me and everything is grayed out. Nothing is available to share at all. We use netmeeting on a daily basis here and this is the first day I have ever seen or heard of this issue. To my knowledge also no changes have been made on my system.

I was able to resolve this issue by going to tools -- options -- and changing the directoy settings. I had to make it point to the directory we use here for my company. It was set to Microsoft Internet Directory.

To start Remote Desktop Sharing:
1. Start NetMeeting.
2. On the Tools menu, click Remote Desktop Sharing to start the Remote Desktop Sharing Wizard, and then click Next.
3. In the Remote Desktop Sharing Wizard -- Set Password dialog box, type a password in the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes, and then click Next.

NOTE: The password will be used when you control your computer desktop remotely from another computer.
4. Click Yes, enable password-protected screen saver to enable a password-protected screen saver to be started by Windows if a Remote Desktop Sharing session is interrupted, and then click Next.

NOTE: If you enable this option, it will ensure no one else can work on your computer while you are controlling it from another computer. If you do not wish to enable this option, click No, I will do this later, and then click Next. If you choose not to enable a password-protected screen saver, skip to step 4.
5. In the Display Properties dialog box, select a screen saver, click the Password Protected check box to select it, and then click OK. If you need to specify a screen saver password or if you wish to change your existing password, click Change.
6. Click Finish.
7. On the Call menu in NetMeeting, click Exit and Activate Remote Desktop Sharing.
The bow that bends too strictly snaps itself.
