Baystack 450 Problems |
|
|
Hi All -
We're currently experiencing some problems with a stack of Baystack
450's (4). Periodically the stack resets and logs the following error:
Entry Number: 350 sysUpTime: 3 days, 21:52:25 Reset Count:
44
An operational exception occurred at vector number 2.
[SP+0] 20000081 [SP+3] FFFF0000
[SP+1] A892C008 [SP+4] 0081A892
[SP+2] 04240004 [SP+5] 000E0065
The code revision is sw: 4.5.2.4 fw: 1.48 isvn: 2
Lately as well, we've noticed terrible SNMP performance through Device
Manager to the point where we've had to increase our timeout values
just to open the stack.
The base unit was recently swapped out for one with a newer HW
revision. Next step is the MDA and cascade modules, but if anyone can
provide any assistance/information, this would be greatly appreciated. |

Send it back to Nortel under the lifetime warranty and let them replace
it for you. |

Thanks for the info Mike. Unfortunately though, I doubt I could send
back all 4 units, cascades and mda without knowing which unit is
faulty. I could be wrong though.
Update: Swapped all 4 cascade modules/cables this morning and the SNMP
response seems to be much better. I didn't have to modify the timeout
values to view the switch stats, so we're on the road to recovery I
think.
Will keep an eye out for crashes....I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Cheers! |
