Login for Remote Desktop Sharing |
|
|
Hi,
I have two home computers, one XP and another XP Pro. Occasionally I want to
control the XP from the XP Pro. Every thing works except that the NetMeeting
login from XP Pro to XP failed. What should I enter for Domain field? Will
an empty field work?
Thanks in advance,
Wen |

An empty field should work unless the credentials you use are from a domain
( from you description of your network that is unlikely),
RDS requires a full adminstrator login -- is the the type of user you are
using?

Hi, Brian,
I have figured out the issue. I was fooled by the XP's friendly Welcome
screen. The name shown in the Welcome screen is not the login name. After
switching to the classic login screen, I found out about the real login name
to use.
Still thank you for the info about Domain field can be blank. That helped me
start looking somewhere else.
