Brian,

We discussed this a week or so ago.

Situation here is a Windows XP computer sharing an internet connection with
a Windows 98SE computer through a Linksys BSFR41 router. Trying to set up
NetMeeting session with an out of country Windows 98SE computer. Both
Windows 98 computers have NetMeeting version 3.01 installed. Both have MS
Messenger 6.1. The XP machine has the XP version of NetMeeting. The XP
machine will not allow the installation of NetMeeting 3.01.

A NetMeeting session can be initiated and connected between the two 98
machines. When a session is initiated between the Windows XP machine and
the out of country 98 machine, a connection is indicated in the NetMeeting
status window, but no audio or video is possible. As for IM with MS
Messenger, all is normal for typing, but no audio or two-way video is
possible between any of the machines.

I enabled UPnP on the XP machine and turned off the Zonealarm firewall on
the XP machine, but that made absolutely no difference in the results.
There must be some sort of incompatiblility between the two versions of
NetMeeting or there is some setting someplace that I am unaware of.

Do you have any brilliant ideas?

Sam
