Install Fails |
|
|
I am running WinXP Home and when I tried to install NetMeeting (via
Run/conf.exe), the install hangs on the audio tuning wizard. I cannot open
the program. Does anyone know how to fix? |

The most likely cause is a fault in the sound card drivers. Do you have the
latest drivers for your device?

Assuming that I don't intend to use the audio portion of the program, is
there any way to bypass the audio tuning wizard?

Eric,
Did you ever get this one resolved. I have an Compaq Presario 700 laptop
that this is happening on. It has a soundmax sound card. If I disable
the sound card, I can get into Netmeeting no problem. However, I don't
want the user having to diable the sound card everytime they go to use
netmeeting.
I installed DX9 on it and was experiencing the same issue (hanging) when
testing Direct Sound. So I turned hardware acceleration off for the
sound card. Same Issue... I have ran Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D on it
(removed all spyware). Now I am doing an Antivirus scan on it. If that
doesn't work I am going to remove real player from it as that is the
only other application that is different from my workstation.
If you have fixed it please let me know what solved it as this is a 2
month old problem.
Thanks,
Ryan

Note:
I resolved this with new sound card drivers from Compaq.
