Hello,
I am trying to make or receive calls on Netmeeting on my XP desktop, which is connected to a linksys router. I'm guessing that I need to give my actual ISP address- cable connection. The problem is that I'm not able to connect to anyone I try to call.

I'm not sure what am I missing here. But any help anyone can provide would be great.
Not using any firewalls or proxies.

Thanks...

What linksys router, what firmware version?

With some Linksys routers with current firmware it should be possible to have full feature outgoing calls with no extra configuration,. With others the calling client will need to be the designated dmz client.

It should however be possible to make an outgoing call and connect with a data only connection regardless of router, firmware version and without configuration changes in the router. If you are having problems connecting outgoing (that is making a NetMeeting initiated call) it might be that the problem is at the other end ( the wrong IP address maybe or the other end is behind a firewall/router or using a software firewall not configured for NetMeeting use).

Incoming calls would be possible at the dmz client ( or with some Linksys routers by forwarding tcp 1503 and 1720) if the call was made directly to the Wan IP of the router

Actually the router is via NAT ( which is what firewalls use to protect you) so you are running a firewall of sorts.
