Slightly OT - DHCP Server Address? |
|
|
I would like to learn the IP address of the server that is feeding my
system its DHCP license on DSL startup. How can I do this? I have a
Westell modem and its management web page will tell me the DNS servers
but not DHCP. I have set my modem and PC NIC card to "share the same
IP".
Thanks. |

If it don't want to tell you, you'll have to use some
external service like http://www.whatismyip.com

I think you mean "clone MAC".

How will that tell you which DHCP server assigned you your IP?

It's possible he means what he said. But it's possible he means what you
said

Well, since you are clearly running WinDoze XP, type "ipconfig/all" in
a command prompt window. |

Regardless of what my IP is, somehow a DHCP server answered my call and
assigned an IP number to my MAC. Somehow my DHCP client knows the IP
number of the host that distributed the IP. But I can't find a way to
discover the DHCP server (via WMI, etc)..... |
