Hi,

I have a sign-in sign-out facility for my netmeeting web application and I
want to keep track of which users are signed in to my site at any time.
I have created a table in my access database and was planning to add the
user when they sign-in and delete then with then sign-out.
However this won't work if the users don't sign-in and just close the
window.
Is there any way around this problem or a better way to handle it?

Thanks
Suzanne

You could capture the leave page event ( onUnload) and record that as a
logout.

I believe that event is fired on closing the window or browsing to another
page.

You need to use sessions with an appropriate timeout setting (say 5
minutes) or like www.fresh-toast.net use a meta refresh on the users
list which logs out users if their refresh does not occur.,

Cheers - Neil.
