Netmeeting on Lan

Postby Peter » Fri Sep 02, 2005 6:01 pm

I have a 7 computer network on a LinkSys router (192.168.1.1)
I would like be able to call to any one of these computers from an External network through Internet and do a Netmeeting.

Can someone point me to instructions / book / FAQs on how to setup this up?

Thanks

Peter

Posssibly you might want to investigate a netmeeting gatekeeper first
eg http://www.dialupaudio.com/dualgatekeeper.html , it offers the
ability for anybody on one of the (7) computers to pick up the call.

The only way to allow all machines to receive calls from outside will be to
install an H.323 gatekeeper/gateway on one of the machines behind the
router (it will then no longer usable as a NetMeeting machine), designate
the gateway computer as the dmz, then make gatekeeper type calls using the
wan IP of the router as the gatekeeper address.

http://www.openh323.org/code.html has an open source gatekeeper. Dial up
Audio (http://www.dialupaudio.com/dualgatekeeper.html) has a ready to go
commercial product.
