video options dimmed out |
|
|
For some reason, all the video options are dimmed out on my
computer and I am unable to send video. Everything else
works fine, I have reinstalled, ect...but the options for
video (sending) are all dimmed out and it does no seem to
auto-recognize my dv camera. Any suggestions? I can not
find anything in help. |

NetMeeting needs (old style) vfw capture interfaces and does not work with
devices that offer only wdm interfaces (all firewire/dv combos I know of are
in this class),
http://www.meetingbywire.com/XPNetMeeting.htm#camera offers some work around
suggestions.

Like Brian says, most DV cams do not have the appropriate drivers. In
some cases, Softcam (www.luminositi.com) can detect and use the DV
device as a video source, it then outputs a vfw stream which
netmeeting can use as a video capture source.
There used to be a 30 day trial , maybe they still do it ;-)
Cheers - Neil.

i dont know if u are using win 98 or 2000/xp. dont uninstall netmeeting
under 2000/xp//
if you are using win98, try to uninstall netmeeting and the webcam and web
cam drivers... re install web cam abd webcam drivers, then re installed
netmeeting in THAT order.. i have seen that fix the problem before.
