Number NetMeeting participants who can enjoy hear audio spea |
|
|
So far, I am able to have three people participate in a single NetMeeting,
sort of. Unfortunately, only two of the three people can actually listen to
one another and speak to one another. The third person can see but not
listen into what the other two meeting participants are saying. Any two
of the three meeting participants can listen in and speak but the third can
only see a shared Desktop and "chat" with the first two to log into the
meeting via Windows Messenger or NetMeeting.

What you are seeing is normal and expected. NetMeeting alone supports one to
one audio/video calls and multiparty data calls.
NetMeeting can participate in a multiparty audio/video call via an H.323
MCU.

Hi Brian,
So where and/or how can I acquire, purchase or otherwise obtain an H.323 MCU
for my NetMeeting? Actually, I already located one from Sony, but which of
the many available is the "one" to get for NetMeetings with 2-4
participants?
Actually, the main reason for my using NetMeeting instead of Remote
Assistance was that I thought more than two people could attend a
NetMeeting. In my case I wanted four people to be able to attend. It looks
like I was mistaken about NetMeeting's capabilities.

The H.323 MCU supports more than 2 parties in an audio/video call.
http://www.meetingbywire.com/ConferenceServers.htm has a short discussion
and a survey of products.
I hadn't heard of any Sony product though -- do you have a url?

More than 2 people *can* attend a Netmeeting and participate in the data
functions. Remote Assistance is a desktop sharing tool ( data only) and has
no audio/video capability afaik so I don't completely understand your
rationale.
