I'm using Windows XP Pro SP1's NetMeeting.
The problem occurs when starting/closing NetMetting. The screen goes black
for few seconds.
Any clues?

NetMeeting causes a graphics card driver initialization on startup and
exit( related to its takeover of directx and desktop sharing function). What
you are seeing is a side effect of that ( on most machines it just repaints
the screen and is just a momentary flash -- on some machines hardly even
noticeable).

I think the extreme effect you are seeing is due to a fault in your graphics
card drivers. What graphics card do you have? Do you have the latest
drivers?

It is a 3DConnect Radeon 9600 128 Mb. The drivers are from the installation
CD that came with the video card, I think from last year. However, I've
tried to install newer drivers few months ago, but the Windows XP just
resets or do not start at all.
There is also a setting in BIOS about the "apperture" which is set to 64 Mb.
Is this OK?

Have you contacted ATI?

I don't know what the setting means.

I've contacted 3DConnect, but they're as helpful as nothing.

I have the exact same problem. I have an ATI Radeon 7000, 32MB RAM. Latest
drivers installed (v6.14.10.6404).

If anyone knows a way to fix this I'd love to hear it.
