How two users on the internet communicate on Netmeeting |
|
|
I and one of my colleagues want to communicate on Netmeeting and both
of us are the Internet.
I am not clear how to get the IP address when we are on the internet
through a ISP.
Thanks

Assuming there are no routers between the internet connection and the
proposed NetMeeting computer, using help=>about in NetMeeting will provide
the callable IP address. The Ip address can be communicated using email,
instant messenger or whatever other means are available. |

I guess the ISPs have routers and firewalls

They might have routers (probably not firewalls) -- but I was referring to
local devices.
How do the computers connect to the internet (dial up, dsl, cable or ..)?

wondering how do we resolve this scenario and still connect on
Netmeeting.

If there a no local router/gateway devices then determining the IP address
via help ->about, communicating the IP address to the caller, then placing
the call using the IP address of the callee should work. |
