Remote Desktop Sharing after Sysprep on WinXP Pro |
|
|
I am having this problem with RDS after images created using Sysprep on our company.
Basically I create the master image and configure everything including Netmeeting and RDS to be running. The icon in the taskbar is there and it works fine. It Activates fine and Turning it off works fine.
I follow with a Sysprep. Here is where the problem lies.
Upon the next reboot The icon is there but clients are unable to actually Activate the RDS. Every time they click on it, The screen would just blink and nothing would happen. Right clicking on the icon again still shows the Activate still unclicked as if the pc is stuck in the off mode.
Also, If the the icon in the taskbar has the RDS icon showing. Netmeeting will not open and gives an error message
"Netmeeting could not start. Please restart your computer and try again"
You can however exit out of the RDS and then open netmeeting which will work.
I have never had a problem with this on our W2k images that I have created in the past. This only happens on our WinXP corporate images.
I have already used gpedit.msc and looked under the Netmeeting options for both Computer configure and User configuration and nothing is set so that RDS or Netmeeting would not functin properly.
I know that some of the others here have seen this problem. Any ideas?
I think its the sysprep 2.0 that Win XP uses that is breaking the RDS feature of Netmeeting.
What is it? |
