I meant to say that although I find dozens on the net only two show me a
list of people the rest all say 'not found'.

I used to use NM years a go and it was fine. Does this not found problem
happen a lot?

I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 2

Thanks again

G

http://www.netmeetinghq.com has a list of mostly working ils servers,

Microsoft stopped development on NetMeeting in 1999 and withdrew any ILS
service it operated at that time. All ILS servers since then are 3rd party
operated. Since then (and especially since Microsoft officially announced
that NetMeeting will be "retired" last year) available ILS service has
continued to diminish.

Is there an alternative to Netmeeting where you can search a directory of
people and chat cam to cam?

There are some web views of ils servers ( http://www.netmeetinghq.com for
example) and at least one web based directory ( Neil Smith's Fresh Toast
-http://www.fresh-toast.uklinux.net/netmeeting/index.html) but the options
are limited.
