Does anyone know whether the Siemens 5100B DSL modem is compatible with
static IP DSL service or if it only works with dynamic IP service?

It depends on what kind of static service.

With simple bridged static, you just put the modem in bridged mode.

With a single static IP given over PPPoE, that will look the same
as dynamic except that you always get the same IP. Should work
fine with the 5100b.

If you get one of the packages for 5 static addresses over PPPoE,
then the changes are that you will only be able to use one of them
with the 5100b.
