Lee,
unfortunatelly you dont let us know what kind of terminal adapter the device
is.
If its a TA V.24, it is connected to the PC via serial cable to COMx and
schould have AT command set. In this case you dont need drivers, cause it is
not installed bit connected to the PC (COMx are installed and sure already
drivers for it are installed too). The only thing you need is the
appropriate init, dailup,... strings/commands to init, dial and set the
desired protocoll stack in the TA. From point of view of the OS your TA
behaves like a serial modem connectd to COMx.
