I downloaded new drivers from ATI tonight, through my TWC cable connection.
To my astonishment, it zipped along at 633Kbps! It seems they doubled the
speed to 6Mbps. Anyone else see an increase?

I called my Nephew in another part of Brooklyn, and his download speed was
his normal 365Kbps. He shut off the modem and turned it back on, and got
the 6Mbps download speed. If you're in Brooklyn, try unplugging your modem
and plugging it back in.

Actually, it's now on their website 5.0Mbps download/384 upload. Premium
has been upped to 8Mbps down / 784 up.

Could you post a link? I can't find anything about this on the national
TWC pages, although CNET News has a report on it:

Thanks for the link. Yours seems to be the first TWC system to get the
speed boost.

This actually applies to all the offerings of TWC NY (RR, EarthLink, etc.)

I guess they are doing this because Verizon is now offering 3Mbps speed for
29.99/month. Thanks, Verizon. Now if they would only increase UPLOAD
speed!
