Hi,

On bootup, the card is detected and the "Found New Hardware" wizard reports
that a new network interface has been detected. How do I proceed from there?
None of the normal stuff seems to work. The driver is not found on the XP
CD-ROM, neither on the Eicon CD-ROM. I thought XP Pro has native draivers
for the Eicon Diva Server PRI cards? The stuff that I downloaded from
Eicon's website is just an update to the driver that should already be
installed.

What now?

Thanks in advance

Depends if you have an older version 1.0 (wihich is end-of-life) card, the

latest drivers are not supported. You can download the 6.3 version at:
http://www.eicon.com/worldwide/products/MediaGateways/eol/docs.htm?en_prod=Diva_Server_PRI_30M
for these version 1.0 hardware. Pim

Gegroet Pim,

The card is the PRI 4M - I suspect the v1 as the latest drivers I downloaded
from Eicon indeed did not work. I'll follow the link you provided to get the
correct one for my card.

Meanwhile, I have moved the card to a different box with more up-to-date
hardware. This box is running W2K SP4 and I had no problems installing the
driver and the update from the Eicon CD-ROM.

Now I have one remaining problem: The PRI line from the local exchange has
been in disuse for over a year. Now that I have reconnected everything I
cannot get the layer 2 connection active. The physical layer is fine as is
evident by the lack of any alarm LEDs on the NT and is reported as fine by
the PSTN. However, the green LED on the card stays off and in the Diva
Server Monitor - System Overview I can see that it repeatedly tries to
connect and ends up with a Layer 2 inactive error.
The PSTN is not much help. I suspect that the line is deactivated on their
side because it was unused for a year. Could that cause a layer 2 problem?
The local exchange is an Alcatel. I believe I have all the signalling
settings correct as before when I used it a year ago.
I hope you have some advice!

Alvast bedankt

Ha Abel,

I don't have experiences with public PRI lines, only PABX PRI lines. I
assume you have setup the right signalling protocol. Maybe you can send some
debug logging for a call setup. Otherwise you could call your telco for
support, as I assume you pay some huge sum of money for line rental.
Graag gedaan, Pim

Hi Pim

Thanks - the PSTN has sorted out the problem.
