Is there a way to distinguish between ISDN and POTS remote subscriber?

In essence, the idea behind this question would be to create some
kind of call packet, and have it sent over D channel to the remote
side, and in return decipher whether or not on the other side there's
an ISDN subscriber or a POTS subscriber?

Thanks!

Darko
