I have noticed that lot of times when I go to access my 3com
OfficeConnect LAN Modem ISDN U configuration page I get missing icons,
"The page cannot be displayed" in the frames, etc. This has been an
on going problem which usually results in me resetting the modem to
clear up the issue - but only to have the problem hours later.

With some free time I thought I would research this on 3com knowledge
base and was amazed at my findings. To sum it up it would appear they
know about the problem, but just tap dance around it. Several of the
fixes were general responses that could be applied to 100 different
issues. But (2) of them had me shaking my head and resulted in me
posting to the news groups - maybe for comments <Grin>.

The first one described the issues and basically has you telnet into
the modem and reset it - I guess I am expecting too much? This is a
work around, a bandage if you will. What is the fix to the root
cause?

The second one - amazed me, it mentions trouble accessing
configuration page, cause: McAfee scanning application, fix: remove
it. Remove it? That's the answer? Its similar to the doctor joke -
You go to the doctor complaining your arm hurts when you move it, the
doctor replies - well don't move it.

I guess I expect too much from a knowledgebase.

My final concludes to the issue - If you have an OfficeConnect LAN
Modem ISDN U (3C892A) and are getting "The page cannot be displayed"
there is no fix, you will just have to deal with it.
