BPS 2000, QoS, MAC-source and MAC-destination classification

Postby Bushi » Mon Mar 28, 2005 9:43 am

Hello!

I have taken on testing two switchs BPS 2000.

Advertising promises:

Set up prioritization by configuring the:

* 802.1p header (layer 2)

* MAC Source and/or Destination address (Layer 2) ???

* IP SA/DA or subnet (Layer 3)

* TCP/UDP source/destination port, range (Layer 4)

* VLAN ID (layer 3/4)

But neither in the of a command-line interface, nor in a
web-interface, nor in the userguide I have not found anything about
classification on a mac-source and mac-destination.
It is impossible to create the filter of the level 2 with application
of a mac-source or mac-destination.
How it is possible to classify the traffic to the address of a
mac-source and mac-destination? I use BOSS v3.1.4.10.

Unfortunately, when configuring QoS filters you can't use Src/Dst MAC
as classification Critieria in your scenario. Need to try to find some
other L2/L3/L4 criteria.
