Good day,

Is there a software client available or required for the Contivity 100.

I have a Contivity 100 that I used mainly for its routing capabilities. But
I need to connect remotely to my home network. Do I need a software client
just like one is needed for the bigger box like the Contivity 600 & above.

Thanks,

JP

There is client software for the 100, but it is not for remote access. It is
only used to help enforce gateway access restrictions (ie. with the client
installed it can authorize access based on users instead of just
workstations IPs). Despite being called Contivity, the 100 has very little
to do with the Contivity series (it is really an updated Bay Networks
product known as the Instant Internet).

The Contivity Extranet Access Client (EAC) is only for the Contivity VPN
server devices (Contivity 600 and up). The Contivity 100 is a branch access
device and can only do VPN in branch access mode (not remote client access
mode).

You'll need a VPN client that can operate in branch-to-branch mode like
SoftRemote, Cisco VPN client, etc.

Depends on wot you want to use it for...
There are actually 2 "clients", you could mean. One for when the box is
being an "instant internet", which is to say, a kinda web proxy box.
And the second, the configuration GUI client (once configured, you can
telnet and configure via cli. much quicker)
Both client comes on the install CD.
