I have a customer, (telco) that wants to get rid of meridian mail and
integrate 2000 mail boxes to their CO based Octel off the Meridian op81 rlse
25.40.
their are approximately 15 auto attendants on the mermail. This is a cost
savings measure because they have the huge octel and only 35% used.I am
pitching call pilot to them. Doe anyone know of this ever being implemented
before or does the octel have all the features they need like amis, message
waiting lites, express messaging outcalling etc.?
any help would be appreciated
thanks in advance

It's going to depend on the hardware version of Octel they have and the
version of software that's on it. An Octel Overture-250 or Overture-350 is
pretty hard to beat and likely will still be running when you and are dead
and buried. Extremely intuitive user interface and very easy to build
applications on it.

Check with Kelly Seale at Tel-Is. They are Avaya (Octel) support folks and
can likely answer your questions and help get you going. (phone

If it is a C.O. based system it may not be on the 250/350 platform. I think
the old large platform is the Maxum. Octel has pretty good documentation on
PBX integration and requirements. Find out the exact Octel system they
have, and find the config note for it at this link:

Good Luck,
